Patient’s Name:  Ron Wieman

Patient’s General Condition:  Ron has had pain and stiffness in his left shoulder and upper back for about 20 years.  He had no serious injury.  He grew up on a farm and did a lot of physical labor.  He has had problems sleeping and extreme pain.

Type of Doctor seen or any therapies performed in the past:  Years ago went to a Doctor of Chiropractic and he did not have a good experience.

How Sioux Falls Chiropractic helped Ron:  Ron came in to Dr. Chris Brandner and she took x-rays, gave him adjustments, and performed therapies.  Ron started feeling relief after the first couple of visits to Sioux Falls Chiropractic.  Now he is able to sleep with no problems.  He went golfing again for the first time in a long time and had no pain.  He states that he has been feeling great and he feels that he is back to normal again.   Ron states that the exercises Dr. Chris and staff showed him have helped tremendously.  He is finally able to relax and does not have near as much tension that he used to.  Ron had a few myofascial release treatments done by Lexi Briggs, one of Sioux Falls Chiropractic’s licensed massage therapists and he said that the treatments were excellent and produced a lot of relief.  Ron states that his experience at Sioux Falls Chiropractic was such a pleasurable one.

Patient’s Name: Noraja Dewitt & Kaylee, Sioux Falls SD.

On a routine checkup to the doctor’s office I was told that my 5 year old daughter had a hearing problem.  I then took her to a hearing specialist & it was confirmed that she had fluid in her ears & that she had poor hearing.  I was told that she would need tubes in her ears to drain the fluid & correct her hearing.

My mom mentioned to me that she heard a chiropractor may be able to correct this.  I would have never thought to take her to a chiropractor; I tend to think of the back when I think of a chiropractor, but feeling frustrated I figured what have I got to lose?

So I set my first appointment with Dr. Robert Joyce at the Sioux Falls Chiropractic office.  Dr. Joyce explained that my daughter did have some tension in her neck & there was also an ear bone that was out of place which could be causing fluid to build.  Over a months time he saw her a few times a week to do adjustments & when I took her back to the hearing specialist I was amazed to find out that the fluid in her ears had completely gone away & that she had perfect hearing again!  She also no longer needed tubes in her ears.  Thank you Dr. Joyce!

Patient’s Name:  Trevor Kannas

Patient’s General Condition:  Restrictive Airway Disease.  Trevor has constantly seen a specialist for his problems with breathing.

History of condition:  Trevor developed RSV when he was 4 months old. He did constant nebulizer treatments and nothing seemed to help his breathing.

Type of Doctor Seen:  He began seeing a Respitory specialist from the age of 4 months to 1 year old at six months intervals.  At age 1they decided to try something else for Trevor.

How Sioux Falls Chiropractic Helped Trevor:  Trevor started coming to Sioux Falls Chiropractic when he was 1 year old.  He started seeing Dr. Christine Brandner and she started adjusting Trevor every six weeks then decreased adjustments to 1 time per month.  Almost immediately the Kannas family saw Trevor’s breathing improve.  He now no longer has to see a Respitory Specialist.  He does not have to do nebulizer treatments.  He comes in for regular adjustments with Dr. Christine Brandner and has not had breathing problems since he started coming to Sioux Falls Chiropractic.

Dizziness/Nausea
I am a senior citizen.  In 2004 I started having dizzy spells, and they only lasted for a minute. I also felt nauseous when I got dizzy.  In February of 2005, I went to see an ear nose and throat specialist.  I thought maybe I had an ear or sinus infection.  He checked the ears and sinuses and said that they were okay.  He prescribed Meclizine for when I got dizzy.  The dizzy spells started to come more often, and started to last longer.  I also was nauseous to the point that I thought I was going to throw up.

Approximately September 2005, I had a real bad spell.  I was sitting in my recliner watching TV and all at once it hit me.  I knew I was going to throw up.  So I tried to stand up, however I almost fell due to the dizziness.  So I got down on my hands and knees and slowly crawled into the bathroom.  I barely got there in time, and threw up.  I had to keep my head down for a long time, due to the dizziness and nausea.  Every time that I tried to lift my head or sit up the dizziness and nausea got worse, and I threw up.  I also developed a moderate headache and pressure in between my ears, which was so severe that I thought my head was going to explode.  I thought that I better go get checked out in case I had a stroke.  So when the nausea went away and I was able to slowly get up I headed to the emergency room.  They took x-rays of my head and said everything looked okay.  The doctor again prescribed Meclizine and discharged me.  When I walked out past the receptionist, she looked at me so funny, because I was staggering around like I was drunk, due to my dizziness and imbalance.

In November of 2005 I was again watching TV in my recliner and another dizzy spell started to come on.  So I got down and crawled in to the bathroom and started throwing up.  Everything was worse this time.  After throwing up off and on for almost a whole hour I knew I had to go to the emergency room, because something was definitely wrong.  I could barely stand up so I called my neighbor and asked if she would please take me to the emergency room.  She had to help me walk, because my dizziness and nausea were so bad I was unable to do it by myself.  I then started to recall that I had taken a bad fall in/around February of 2004 and hit my head on the driveway.  It even knocked me unconscious for a few seconds.  At that point I wondered if this may have had something to do with the problem.  They did a CT scan of my head and again said nothing was wrong.  They were going to discharge me again but when I tried to stand up I started to fall so they admitted me into the hospital. All they did for me was to start me on Meclizine again.  The next day I had another CT scan and MRI which both came out normal.  I also saw another ear nose and throat specialist who said everything looked good.  Now I was taking the Meclizine every six hours and Tylenol every four hours, however I was not getting any relief.  I saw an advertisement on TV about acupuncture and how it could be helpful for dizziness.  I was at my wits end, and did not know what else to do, so I called Sioux Falls chiropractic and asked to speak with the doctor.  I talked to Dr. Bob said he didn't think I needed acupuncture, but an adjustment.  He said that he would like to try treating me for the fall that I took in February of 2004.  I came in on January 9, 2006 carrying my plastic bag just in case I had to throw up.  I started out with three sessions that week, by Friday of that week I felt better.  I have been getting steadily better since January 9.  Second week I was off all of my medications.  Now I have progressed to one time a week and will advance to one time a month, and beyond.

I never dreamt that chiropractic would be the answer to my problem.  I am so thankful I called Sioux Falls chiropractic.

Thank you Dr. Bob!

Sincerely,
Margret Carlson

P.S.
The entire staff that I have been in contact with at Sioux Falls Chiropractic has been great, keep up the good work!

Patient’s name:  Jodi Sather

Patient’s general condition:
She fractured her calcaneus (heel) in her right foot on July 11, 2005.  She spent 5 months on crutches and when she got off crutches she could not put any pressure on her heel.  It hurt very much to walk.

History prior to condition:  Jodi never had any foot problems before the fracture.

Type of doctor seen, therapies, how long did they have the condition:
Jodi saw a physical therapist to do range of motion with therabands for her foot, but none of the physical therapy helped.  She could not walk and her foot did not improve.  She tried to do things on her own but nothing seemed to help.  The pain in her right heel made it very difficult to walk.

What doctor did they see at Sioux Falls Chiropractic? What treatment was rendered?  When they started seeing relief?  How has it changed their life?
Jodi started seeing Dr. Christine Brandner and after the first two weeks of chiropractic care her foot really started feeling better.  She could apply pressure on her right heel.  Dr. Brandner had Jodi get myofascial release to her right foot, ultrasounds, and electrical stimulation, along with chiropractic adjustments.  She continues to get better all of the time.  She can now walk with pressure on her right heel and she feels much better.

Ear Infections

Graston Technique - Testimonial

I have been a patient of Sioux Falls Chiropractic for about a year and a half for an auto accident. My symptoms have been mostly all neck and upper back with a lot of headaches. I have been seeing Dr. Joyce and have done a variety of things to try to alleviate the pain. I have done a combination of adjustments and massage and also other things such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation. I have seen some small improvements, but nothing to get me significantly better. I felt that the massage was not deep enough and would only give me temporary relief. I was told about the Graston technique and was willing to give it a shot. I was very glad to see some results within a couple treatments. I have had Graston 6 times in the past couple months and it has helped me so much. I have better range of motion and also don’t have as many headaches. I know that the Gaston is what is helping me and I am so glad that I tried it. Dr. Mitch has done a great job with the Graston and I know that I will continue to improve as the weeks go by. I really look forward to the Graston sessions when I have them.
